Mirror Stage Costume - Birds

Mirror Surface · Crowd Interaction · Roaming Performance

Description
The Birds costume was developed by Peasok Studio as a commissioned project for a partner from Qatar.
The task was to create a mirror-based stage image with a light lighting element that would perform equally well across different formats: supporting a DJ in a club, appearing in restaurant welcome zones, and being used at private events.
A specific requirement from the client was a style “not like everyone else.” Standard mirror performers and polygonal animal forms were not suitable - the client needed a refined, recognizable image with a fantasy character that would not appear overloaded or aggressive. This led to the Birds concept: an image combining a mirrored surface, club aesthetics, and a more universal form suitable for a wide range of venues.

Construction & Technology
The jumpsuit is constructed from mirror elements of minimal size, using small hexagonal segments. The use of fine fractions allows for more active light interaction: the smaller the segment, the more highlights it produces and the stronger it reflects surrounding lighting.
Laser gloves with green illumination were integrated into the costume, selected to match the visual style and the reptilian–avian character of the image.
The combination of a club-style jumpsuit and a classic mirrored tailcoat made it possible to fulfill the key client requirement - versatility across different event formats. As a result, a stage costume was created that performs confidently both in club environments and in more restrained settings. After completion, the costume remained with Peasok and became part of the studio’s core lineup, actively used in in-house performances and commercial events.
