Description A stage costume designed and manufactured by Peasok Studio for the beatbox artist Verbalase. The project was created for live performances and stage shows where the costume was required not only to emit light, but to dynamically respond to sound. The primary task was to develop a visual system that changes colors and lighting modes in real time, reacting to the timbre, pitch, and character of the beatbox performance. This approach enhances the artist’s stage presence and transforms sound into a visual action. The costume was designed as a full-fledged performance instrument, operating in synchronization with the performer’s voice while not restricting movement on stage.
Construction & Technology To implement the project, a custom controller was designed and proprietary software was developed to convert incoming audio signals into control commands for programmable LED strips. The sound-processing algorithms were configured to accurately respond to different beatbox techniques, changes in volume, and variations in pitch. The LED elements are integrated into the costume with consideration for stage operation, performer mobility, and stable system performance during live shows. All components are assembled into a unified system intended for regular professional stage use. ______________________________________________________________ Stage costume for beatboxer Verbalase - a completed Peasok Studio project featuring an audio-reactive lighting system and custom electronics.
